Every year Ryan asks me if we can get a real Tree for the Holidays, and every year I feel like scrooge because I always say "No". Now to be fair I will say that our first Christmas we got a real tree in our tiny little apartment and it totally and completely turned me off. We were on the 2nd floor, so you can imagine the mess the tree created on the way in, but especially on the way out the door after the Holiday. I wanted to cry!!!
However this year I thought that it would be nice to suprise him and take him out to the tree farm a few blocks from us and let him and Olivia pick a tree. He was totally and completely surprised and so happy that I swear the memory of his smilling face will be worth every pine needle that I have to clean up the next 3/4 weeks.
We now have two huge trees in our house. {Come on did you think I was going to give up my Fake Tree.} The real one is about 9 feet and is in our family room and the fake tree which is 12 feet is in our foyer. Olivia loves running from one room to the other and check out the lights and ornaments.
Here are a few pictures of our little trip.
