What a beautiful and monumental day January 20th turned out to be this year!

I am proud to be an American and of the history which was made!

I am anticipating the next four years and all of the changes which will occur!

I am ready to see our country move in a new direction!

Mother Nature Made This Little Girl Very Happy Today....

Olivia was so excited to see snow this morning when we came downstairs.  She glued her face to the window in our family room and must have asked me a thousand times to go outside.

  • Breakfast was never eaten in such a timely manner as today.  I really don't think she chewed her toast, she just swallowed it whole.
  • Getting dressed again WOW it was fast and not once did I hear..."I don't want to wear that", followed by a temper tantrum.
  • Getting our coat and boots on...again no fight.  I think she had her boots in her hand even before I asked her to get them.

Let's just say that I wish it snowed everyday....

Reflecting on 2008 & Looking forward to 2009

For the last few days I have been anticipating the new year and reflecting on what 2008 brought to our family!

2008.........

2008 was a good year for us...now I am not going to paint a pretty picture and say that we did not have any hardships, but today I really want to focus on all the Happy and Memorable times we had.

1) Having the luxury of being able to stay home and enjoying my children and taking care of them.

2) Olivia growing into an amazing, smart and loving little girl.  {Yes, we have our moments where she is seriously showing her "treacherous three's", but I again I want to focus on the "Happy" moments. LOL}

3) Ryan....what can I say about him?  He is truly my love, my best friend and an amazing husband.  We have been through so much together and it as only brought us closer together.  I cherish our marriage and everyday I strive to be a good wife to him.  I am so grateful for all the sacrifices that he makes in order for me to be able to stay home and take care of our little ones.  I know that many days its tough for him to come home and to not be able to play and enjoy time with our babies.  Thank you sweetheart for all that you do!  I love you!

4) 2008 brought us Tyler!  He is such a happy and loving baby.  I am so grateful to GOD for giving us a healthy little boy.  We had a few scares during our pregnancy, and there were a few days that I was seriously distraught over the unknown, however we kept our faith and everything turned out ok.

5) Our FAMILY is so important to both of us!  We are so glad that we are able to enjoy their company and love each and everyday.  It is something that we cherish.  Having lost my grandfather, I really want to make sure that we not take any of our loved ones for granted, and to enjoy everyday.

6) Friendships!  I am cherishing and holding close my friends.  I am so grateful for all the support they have shown me and for the times we have been able to spend together.  I am also extremely grateful for my "scrap" friends, they are amazing woman whom I love so very much and am so glad to have met.  We may be all spread throughout, but we have a very special bond.

....... there are so many, but I am going to end 2008 with my chosen word..."LOVE".

Ah, LOVE!!!!! It is the most incredible thing in this world.  We all feel it in so many different ways.  I have learned over the last year that loving one self is so very important.  I have finally reached the time in my life where I learned to say "This is me, love me for whom I am!"  I am no longer striving for acceptance from "those" people that cannot appreciate me or my family.  It is their loss and their problem if they are unhappy with whom they are!

2009.........

I am looking forward to what the new year will bring us!  I am will most definitely not just sit back and wait for the happiness to fall on my lap.  No this year I am planning to go for it 100% and to make sure I am getting exactly what we all need and want!

The last few weeks I have been thinking about what "our 2009 word" will be.  After much deliberation, I have decided that "HAPPINESS" is going to be our motto!

Happiness is a state of mind or feeling such as contentment, satisfaction, pleasure, or intense joy.

Here is to a HAPPY and wonderful new year!
