One of my worst fears since I have started driving at the age of 17 was that my car would breakdown when I am alone. Well it happened to me yesterday…my worst nightmare come true.
I was having such a good day too…dropped of my daughter along with my nephew and my niece at my moms and was going to get a ‘new haircut’. My new look!!!!! Boy oh boy the day ends up completely different.
Hubby asked to borrow my Acura MDX and I kept his BMW, which by the way he has never had a problem with. Well as I am driving down the highway with my Venti Vanilla Latte from Starbucks the car starts acting all weird. All of the lights on the dashboard start going on and off and I swear the car was actually hiccupping. I just had enough time to pull over to the side and the darn thing completely died. I tried and tried to get it to start again, but nothing.
Wouldn’t you know yesterday was 96 degrees and here I am on the side of the road with no AC and its 12:30 in the afternoon. Well I gathered myself and called my DH yelling at him that his darn car broke down…he is trying not to laugh at me by the way, since I am pretty much hysterical that I am going to miss my hair appointment.
Long story short I finally got BMW roadside assistance to come and get me, but they took 2 very long hours, at which point I was drenched from head to toe with sweat. DISGUSTING…I felt absolutely awful. And of course all I had to drink was HOT coffee! My afternoon only gets better at this point since BMW tells me that they don’t have a loaner to give me until next Tuesday. HELLO I am don’t have a car…how exactly would you like me to go home. So it starts I actually have a full melt down and start crying in front of three men who looked like they wanted to run away as fast as they could, but they didn’t. They said…OK, we will rent you a car and than you can switch it with one of our loaners next week. LOL So, its true man actually will do anything to stop you from crying especially when you are in a showroom full of potential buyers at a car dealership.
So the lesson learned from yesterday………….NEVER EVER let my hubby talk me into switching cars again. LOL
